Participative Corporate Finance Mid-Market Internship
The team
ING is looking for an intern for the Corporate Finance Mid-Market department in Amsterdam. Corporate Finance Mid-Market is the team that provides specialist corporate finance (M&A) advice to ING’s Business Banking customers on acquisitions and business transfers worth €15-200 million. The CFMM team currently consists of 15 people.
Roles and responsibilities
The intern will be a full member of the Corporate Finance Mid-Market team during the internship period. The internship’s objective is therefore to introduce the intern to ING’s advisory practice in the full breadth of its services. The intern has the opportunity of participating as a full team member in strategically advising customers on business transfers.
During the internship period, the intern will perform the following tasks:
- participating in the compilation of strategic pitches for customers and prospects;
- participating in writing information memoranda for sales transactions;
- participating in the preparation of longlists of potential buyers;
- participating in company valuations (Excel model and reporting);
- supporting the team in the entire transaction process;
- preparing negotiations with potential buyers.

We are looking for:
- an enterprising, energetic, ambitious student with above average grades;
- university master’s student in business economics, business administration, economics or finance;
- extensive knowledge of various valuation methods, Excel and PowerPoint;
- strong analytical and numerical skills, result-oriented;
- motivated team player, eager to learn and hands-on;
- stress-resistant, strong drive and ambition;
- ability to perform excellently under time pressure;
- affinity with mergers and acquisitions;
- interested in Mid-Market companies, director/majority shareholders and family businesses;
- excellent command of written and spoken Dutch and English;
- advantage: commercial affinity, entrepreneurial and self-motivating.
