Job description
Reporting to the Data Lead, we are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our Data team. We are working on modernizing our data pipeline and products, moving to a streaming first strategy. We’re also working to build frameworks that will allow self-serve when using our platform. All in all, very exciting projects ahead of us.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Creating Real time data pipelines
- Code reviewing
- Open source code reading

- Databases: Mysql, Postgresql (PostGIS), Redis, ClickHouse
- Streaming: Kafka, Kafka connect

- Cloud: AWS, Fargate, Lambdas, Docker, Kubernetes
What you’ll need to perform in this job:
- 2+ years of experience in a related field
- Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Good Computer Science fundamentals with regards to data structures, algorithms, time complexity, etc.
- Good work experience with Python, Java / Scala, SQL
- Experience with data streaming and live processing mainly in Kafka
- Experience in Kubernetes is an asset
- Experience in DBT is an asset
- Good database skills and experience working with large data sets
- Ability to work independently and make use of your time effectively
