The Role:

We are looking for our next Intermediate Buyer within our Procurement Team. The Intermediate Buyer will be responsible for ​working with both suppliers and internal customers to fulfill the requirements of Roquette Canada Ltd with respect to the Procurement Policy and prequalification process to provide the necessary goods and services. 

This position is hybrid (3 days in office per week), located in Portage la Prairie, MB.

What You’ll Do:

  • Procure goods and services in the most efficient and cost effective manner  
  • Process Purchase Requisitions – verifying for completeness and accuracy (specifications, supplier, price)  manage the full process of purchasing issuance in our SAP System, By Requestion price, RFP, RFQ , negotiation, and contracting,  on behalf of roquette.
  • Monitor lead times and expedite problems with suppliers regarding costs, quality, quantity and delivery of products and services purchased  
  • Negotiate  / renewal  of long term strategical contract for the category MRO  and SGA
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery and invoice discrepancies 
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers domestic and international  
  • Source new suppliers to meet project expectations 
  • Special projects or additional tasks as required 
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs 
  • Understand and respect the rules concerning safety, quality, hygiene and the environment. 
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Roquette Pea processing plant and its operations. 

What You’ll Need:

      Education:          

Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain management and/or a Purchasing related discipline. Enrollment in PMAC, CPP, CSCP or SCMP is considered an asset 

      Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience purchasing/buying experience
  • Please list any additional specific experience required or preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position.  Days and flexible hours of work are required to meet facility demands

Business Travel:

  • Occasional international travel may be expected. 5-10%
