The Instructional Designer will apply adult learning principles and strategies to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional courses, assessments, job aids, and other learning deliverables for the organization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and developing innovative and effective learning solutions. Reporting to the Director of HR Programs, this role will be responsible for collaborating with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and other team members to create engaging and impactful learning experiences that support the organization’s goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Design and Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement a variety of learning solutions including e-learning modules, videos, instructor-led training, blended learning programs, job aids, and performance support tools.
  • Apply adult learning theories, instructional design models, and best practices to create effective learning experiences.

Needs Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify performance gaps and learning needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define learning objectives and outcomes.

Content Creation:

  • Develop high-quality instructional materials, including storyboards, scripts, multimedia content, and assessments.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, current, and aligned with organizational standards and goals.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of learning initiatives.

Evaluation and Improvement:

  • Implement evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness of learning solutions.
  • Gather feedback and data to continuously improve instructional materials and learning experiences.

Technology Integration:

  • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other technology platforms to deliver and track learning programs.
  • Stay current with emerging instructional technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance learning.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of content.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for learning initiatives.

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously and prioritize work requests
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and delivers on commitments
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools - Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Suite including Premier Pro or other multimedia software

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning and Development, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design, with a proven track record of creating effective learning solutions
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience importing and synchronizing translations to English version courses

              

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience in education or learning field, or similar work experience
  • Experience within the Manufacturing industry
  • Certification in instructional design or related areas (e.g., CPLP, CPTD)
  • Experience within Workday LMS
