Position Description

We are hiring for an ambitious Institutional Sales Trainee, who has a strong passion for capital markets. This hire will be on a 3-year contract as a start. This Institutional Sales Trainee will support the sales team in their day to day activities such as publishing the daily, weekly and monthly sales notes, and participating in meetings with corporates and domestic and foreign clients. The Sales Trainee is expected to learn about the various sectors and companies under coverage and engage with analysts during the daily research-sales meeting. Due to the nature of a sales role, the selected candidate will be expected to work in the office full-time.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Assist in forwarding client orders to the trading team.

  • Keeping abreast with CLSA research notes and market news.

  • Helping in providing overnight market and Philippines market recap in the morning meeting.

  • Writing daily, weekly and monthly market wrap.

  • Speaking to and engaging with institutional clients regarding news, research recommendations, order flows and sending updates and confirmations (for domestic accounts).

  • Assisting the sales team in pitching stock ideas, industry trends and research analysis to investors.

  • Assisting in the promotion of events, conferences and investor field trips to themes.

  • Performing other functions that may be assigned.

        Requirements

  • Bachelor degree holder or above.

  • At least 2 years’ working experience.

  • Working knowledge of the capital markets including the equities market. Specifically, knowledge of the equity broking business, procedures, technical workings, rules and regulations.

  • Strong communication/relationship skills with team members - sales team, sales traders and analysts.

  • Strong numeric ability and attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Sound market knowledge, mechanics and technical workings.

  • Thorough understanding of limits and internal control functions.

  • Thorough understanding of settlement processes and operations.
