ROLE OVERVIEW
This isn’t a traditional team, and your role is anything but traditional. As the Kitchen’s Insights Analyst, you’re an expert in social media, with your finger on the pulse of what’s happening across the internet and offline culture. You’re curious, digging into trends as they emerge and helping to predict the next challenge on TikTok, trend on Instagram, or conversation moment on Twitter. You use instincts and analytics to decide which moments have potential to become ideas, and you work with your manager, the team’s strategist, to determine how those moments become briefs. You have your own interests and passions (including a passion for food trends), but a key part of your job is an ability to be broadly curious about a wide range of trends – from online gaming to recipes, meme culture, and seasonal conversations. You’re able to filter through the noise and find what’s meaningful and bring it to your team as inspiration.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- SOCIAL LISTENING: You’ll need to keep your finger on the pulse of the internet. You have experience with at least one social listening tool and understand how to measure sentiment and track trending topics. You have your own system and approach to monitoring trends and moments online that you will bring to the team.
- TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: You have experience in at least one major social media management suite (i.e. Talkwalker, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.). You have an excellent understanding of the insights and reporting tools available within these programs and how you’ll use them in your job.
- INNOVATION: You’re aware of and constantly thinking about new ways to track conversations online. You stay informed and at the leading edge of digital media and the latest social platforms.
- COLLABORATION: You work with others to make the work better. You’re happy to analyze trends others bring to the table. You’re not precious or protective of the work you do. You’re willing to work across functions and help others succeed.
- IDEATION: You enjoy the creative process. You might not consider yourself a “creative” by role or title, but you like to be a part of the ideation process and you enjoy contributing ideas.
- REPORTING: You know how success is measured online, and you know how to craft a story about an idea’s success. You’re connected to the metrics and measures of social media and are savvy enough to find insights about performance
