Role

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth through proactive outreach, lead qualification, and relationship building with potential and existing customers. This role utilizes Account Based Marketing, AI and operates primarily via phone, email, and digital channels to identify opportunities, present solutions, and build customer partnerships.

Key Objectives

  • Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to create and execute strategies to communicate CEG’s brand and open new markets.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Expand the company's customer base through effective prospecting and lead generation
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and industry awareness
  • Contribute to the overall growth and success of the business development team

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound calls and emails to potential customers to generate interest in company products or services
  • Use AI, databases, search engines, and other available methods to build targeting lists and prepare for productive introductory calls to increase the probability of success
  • Qualify leads and identify decision-makers within target organizations
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development to align sales strategies to develop and maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities
  • Provide detailed product information and create tailored solutions for customer needs
  • Accurately update and maintain customer information in the CRM system
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and occasional industry events
  • Prepare and deliver virtual sales presentations
  • Track and report on sales activities, pipeline progress, and performance metrics

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a technical field 
  • 2+ years of inside sales or related experience, preferably in a technical environment
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong phone presence and ability to build rapport quickly
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Resilience and ability to handle rejection positively
  • Proficiency in LinkedIn, email platforms (such as Gmail or Outlook), and use of MS office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies and best practices

Hybrid Work Model:
This role can be located anywhere in the continental U.S. (48 states).  Our headquarters are in Arlington, VA, with most of our team working remotely or in a hybrid model. This allows for a combination of virtual and in-person interactions, with periodic in-person meetings at our headquarters every 6-8 weeks. The role will involve occasional travel to team events, training, client locations or industry events.
