THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the Business Development Manager Hydrovac, the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for preparing and providing product quotes and order entry, conformation to customers as well as providing customers with warranty support. This position is also responsible for meeting all sales targets set by the Company, and achieving annual sales growth.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports and ensures departmental sales systems, methodologies, and procedures are in place and followed.
- Contributes to the development and achievement of the overall business plan.
- Communicates regularly with customers; responds to inquiries/requests via email and phone, provides product/system technical support and proposes solutions, follows-up with customers to review and clarify any requirements, provides order updates, and addresses any concerns with delivery or quality expectations.
- Sources, selects, and configures products for applications.
- Communicates with vendors for quote details, as needed.
- Processes sales orders; ensures profit margins are per Company standard, tracks order status throughout shipping process, and makes arrangements for expediting of orders, where possible.
- Communicates regularly with team members in other divisions, i.e. Sales Representatives, Inventory & Procurement department, Warehouse department, etc. Works collaboratively with team members to cross-sell products, ensure the correct items are ordered, expedited orders are completed, and any shipping issues are resolved.
- Provides support to the Accounting department with outstanding payment follow-ups, receivables, and payables, as required.
- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with Company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
Essential:
- College Diploma in a related field
- A minimum of 1-3 years of related experience (industrial sales)
- Advanced computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word etc.)
- Must exude an enthusiasm, passion, confidence, and an optimistic attitude
- A positive mindset with a strong technical aptitude and a general understanding of industrial processes
- Must be driven and determined to win orders
- Must be a collaborative and a supportive team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be able to “think on your feet”, problem solve, and demonstrate creativity
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Must take ownership of own actions and demonstrate initiative

Desirable:
- Working knowledge of fluid handling equipment and technical/mechanical processes
- Working knowledge of industry products, systems and applications is an asset; specifically, fluid mechanics and dynamics, and rotating equipment/machinery
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems
