Inside Sales Account Manager (German Speaking)

Office-Based / Hybrid Working

As an Inside Sales Account Manager, you will have technical skills in life sciences and commercial skills to drive your ability to achieve sales objectives in line with the company's mission. You will be eager to cultivate relationships with existing and new customers to establish you as a trusted partner and a key team player for our commercial business.

As our Inside Sales Account Manager, you will build a strategic sales skill set with the ability to develop and grow your customers through networking at all levels on the customer organization. Additionally, you will have the ability to prospect or take qualified leads and turn them into closed deals

Responsibilities include

  • Managing the customer sales process for German speaking customers, finding new customers and using our CRM database to contact existing customers via phone and email, with some potential for field visits
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of prospects including personnel and responsibilities, budgeting, internal politics, products and services, competition, and market
  • Prepare and give compelling customer sales presentations and participate in all sales activities and assist with general customer demonstrations, training, and support
  • Achieve sales targets and be responsible for accurately forecasting and maintaining leads, account details and up-to-date opportunity information in CRM database
  • Reach out to existing customers and qualified leads to guide them to the Illumina products that best meet their needs
  • Coordinate with internal resources to resolve customer questions or objections, create and submit customized offers, and complete the sales process
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong, positive and productive relationship with customers, including product end users, management and purchasing
  • Work with the broader sales team, including field staff, sales specialists and service contracts
  • Coordinate and communicate sales activities and strategies effectively to supervisors
  • Effectively build a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline and manage the necessary levels of sales leads, prospects, and opportunities
  • Around 10% travel expectation
  • Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.

Preferred background, skills and experience

  • Strong technical background in molecular biology or genomics
  • Proven successful sales experience with a technical product line a plus but other sales experience would be considered
  • Ability to take qualified leads and turn them into closed deals
  • Professional and strategic sales skills with ability to develop and grow accounts through networking at all levels on the customer organization
  • Excellent listening, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Detail- and service-oriented individual

Experience/Education:

  • BA/BS or MS degree in Life Sciences, Ph.D a plus
