Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and seasoned Innovation Leader to join a brand new Innovation and Data Insights team. The objective being to leverage technology and innovation to modernize Barings’ ways of working by delivering new processes, services and business models to drive growth.

We are looking for a visionary leader with a proven track record of driving innovation within the financial services sector. They will have a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to identify and incubate new ideas. This is a pivotal role that will lead and deliver innovation initiatives from their inception through to successful execution and adoption.

The successful candidate will be a visionary and results-oriented leader, possessing a robust expertise in innovation strategies. They will be adept at identifying opportunities for enhancing processes across multiple departments and will take the lead in cultivating an environment that encourages and embraces creative thinking. They will take the lead in fostering a culture of ingenuity throughout the organization in line with the company’s goals.

They will actively monitor and promote new technologies and opportunities that align with our strategic goals. The role also requires the ability to analyze and execute innovation projects, responding to the current context of disruption and emerging technologies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Head of Innovation & Data Insights in the management and execution of the innovation strategy
• Leads the process of discovering and assessing creative and innovative ideas. Actively takes into upcoming trends and technologies as well as possible challenges to the business
• Project manage and coordinates innovative initiatives and projects
• Lead innovation projects from conception to implementation.
• Builds strong relationships and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute innovative solutions.
• Have strong knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the investment management industry.
• Foster a culture of creativity and experimentation within the organization

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in financial services with a focus on innovation.
• Demonstrable experience in leading and executing successful innovation projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify core problems and opportunities
• A natural translator of business needs into technology requirements
• Have deep knowledge of industry trends and able to provide thought leadership.
• An innovative problem-solver with strong logical thinking skills.
• Combines strong logical thinking with the ability to formulate creative solutions
• Takes ownership of workstreams and drives results with a focus on outcomes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong cultivator of relationships
• Excellent listening, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex ideas into simple, actionable language.
