Job Description
Overview:
- Responsible for ensuring successful industrialization of injection molds and their associated technical support processes.
- Monitors the design, fabrication, and fine-tuning of new molds, including prototype and production molds.
- Monitors tool validation for production molds.
- Monitors the renovation of existing molds.
- Applies procedures and instructions relating to quality requirements, respect for the environment and safety, as well as rules of confidentiality and behavior in a clean environment. of
Responsibilities:
- Create requirement specifications for production of new molds and renovation operations.
- Respond to internal requests for mold quotations, including fabrication and modification.
- Work with the purchasing team to utilize tools to align supplier proposals.
- Organize and prepare supplier selection meetings.
- Confirm and approve designs of new molds in collaboration with the project team, considering quality, safety and environmental criteria.
- Monitor the production of new molds by suppliers.
- Ensure acceptance by the mold supplier, with the support of the test coordinator.
- Coordinate validation and adjustment tests.
- Participate in the management and development of the company's “mold standard.”
- Manage plans for new molds under development and prepare files before molds are transferred to production.
- Transfer mold files to the team responsible for maintenance, participate in the preparation of maintenance plans and the constitution of spare parts inventories.
- Participate in relevant project meetings.
- Identify sources of accident risk and environmental non-compliance.
- Propose and contribute to the implementation of improvements to eliminate the risks.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as industrial engineering.
- 5+ years of experience working with injection mold design and qualification.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- Strong project management skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work with and manage vendors to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience working with engineering teams to find molding solutions.
