As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.Our Infrastructure Platform group is a team of innovators rewarded for their passion for technology as much as you do. Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion
- Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters
- Creating and maintaining Mainframe environments and developing automation processes.
- Delivering automation projects, enhancements, and business-as-usual customer support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and innovative automation solutions.
- Driving continuous improvement to enhance the Mainframe environment.
- Support the IP-MMC Automation team in achieving its goals and objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Incumbent will be instrumental in the delivery of Automation projects/enhancements and BAU customer support that will enable the IP-MMC Automation team continuing success in delivering robust and leading-edge solutions and support to the internal JPMorgan Chase global businesses and their partners.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Hands on experience as a Mainframe Automation or Infrastructure Engineer, preferably in a financial services environment.
- Strong in CA OPS/MVS automation skills that includes upgrading/configuring OPS/MVS, coding new rules/rexx, developing new automation tools etc
- Experience with JCL, ISPF, REXX.
- Understanding of z/OS MF and SYSPLEX.
- Skills of MF commands and knowledge of Service Now.
- Basic Programming concept skills.
- Programming languages Python, Ansible skills.
- Understanding of VSI Linux concepts.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and GKP.
- Skills with Satori and Grafana.
- Excellent communication, analytical and writing skills.
- Interpersonal Skills for day-to-day customer support.
