As the Information Technology Specialist, you will have primary responsibilities as network engineer and secondary responsibility preforming application software support to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of these systems. As the Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Qemetica Silica's network infrastructure in all USA locations and oversight of the Netherlands site. As a Software Support Analyst you will also provide technical support and maintenance for legacy plant applications (i.e., Logsheets, Labman, etc.), GE MES Quality system used by the plant's quality department, and minor on-site support for the SAP ERP used throughout the plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Engineering: design, implement, and maintain the plant's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity, routing, and firewall configurations.
- Collaborate throughout the company to plan and implement network upgrades and expansions; communicate across all levels to provide clear instructions, troubleshooting guidance, and updates on issue resolution and implementation plans.
- Use multiple network monitoring and troubleshooting tools to resolve any bottlenecks or vulnerabilities and ensure network performance
- Functional and technical support for local legacy applications, GE MES Quality and SAP, Labman, Logsheet, FIGO, and others by addressing user inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and escalating documented problems to internal or external support teams.
- Help with the minor support of the SAP ERP system, addressing user inquiries and escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams.
- Collaborate with IT, quality department, and SAP support teams, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability between systems.
- Document network and software configurations, changes, and procedures to maintain an accurate knowledge base.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, OR equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security; TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networking.
- Familiarity with network hardware and software, including Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks.
- CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP certifications
- Experience supporting application software (GE MES Quality system or similar; quality management systems; SAP ERP; HRIS systems)
