Job Description SummaryThe Infection Preventionist is responsible for assisting in the administration and clinical operation of the Infection Control Program for the organization. This involves professional responsibilities in patient care practices, epidemiology, statistics, infectious disease, education, communication, surveillance, product evaluation, disinfection and sterilization.
Job DescriptionQUALIFICATIONS:
Current licensure as registered nurse in the State of Alabama.
Prefer three to five years clinical nursing experience in acute care setting.
Prefer knowledge in basic surveillance and epidemiology.
BSN preferred
OR
Certified Medical Technologist, Microbiologist or Public Health with an Epidemiologist focus.
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Licensed per State of Alabama.
Prefer knowledge in basic surveillance and epidemiology.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Demonstrates ability to communicate and organize thoughts, concepts, ideas, verbally and in writing with precise word usage, clear meaning, good presentation, vocabulary, grammar and correct spelling.
SKILLS:
Demonstrates advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint-ability to generate reports, graph trends).
