This position will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns, maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, and supporting the company's tax strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review corporate income tax returns (Federal, State, and Local) for timely and accurate filing.
- Prepare various tax-related reports, including state apportionment and allocation schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger tax accounts.
- Support tax planning efforts, including researching tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors for tax-related matters.
- Stay up to date on changes in tax law and regulations that may impact the organization.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in corporate income tax, preferably within a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Transportation experience a plus.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational and self-review skills.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Personal computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles.
