Teledyne Digital Imaging's products are used worldwide in machine vision, document scanning, image capture, surveillance, process monitoring, manufacturing inspection, medical imaging, and multi media. As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Image Sensor Design Specialist in Waterloo.

Job Summary:

Teledyne-DALSA’s Advanced Imaging group is looking for a creative and innovative individual who has proven ability in independently solving technical problems, can learn new technical concepts readily, and is looking to grow into a technical leadership role.
In this role, you will be joining a group that develops both full custom and semi-custom image sensors and cameras that are used by customers all over the world in the most demanding airborne, space, and life science applications. You will apply your in-depth technical knowledge of semiconductor design to develop Teledyne DALSA’s image sensor technology. You will work in a high-paced development environment with a customer-focused mindset.
The successful candidate will provide technical guidance on new projects, optimize sensor performance to meet customer requirements, and provide technical support to customers. Interacting with process, mechanical, electronic, and test teams, they will help develop and support custom image sensor and camera development & manufacturing

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Physics, Nanotechnology, Electrical Engineering, or a related relevant field

  • At least 5 or more years of product development experience

  • Broad knowledge of systems engineering, semiconductor fabrication processes, microelectronic circuits, analog electronics, and optics

  • Knowledge and experience in semiconductor device physics, understanding of CMOS image sensor technology

  • Experience with optics and/or electronics

  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and innovate in a dynamic environment

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Report writing is essential.

  • Proficiency in programming / data analysis software (Python, MATLAB, R, etc)

  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines

  • Controlled Goods screening will be required

The following experience/knowledge are not mandatory but will be assets:

  • Experience with imaging technology

  • Experience leading root-cause investigations in complex systems

  • Proven experience managing a technical project & working with large multidisciplinary teams

  • Silicon chip circuit design experience is an asset, with particular emphasis on experience with image sensor design
