ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) Engineer

We have a new opportunity for an ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) Engineer to join the Thales Integrated Airspace- Protection Systems business line based at our Belfast site. Reporting to the Head of ILS, the ILS Engineer will be responsible for delivering the ILS work package for their assigned project(s). The position would be ideal for someone with experience working as an ILS or Supportability Engineer with a Defence Engineering background.

Duties will include the following:

  • Prepare all ILS deliverables in line with both internal processes and industry standards, these may include the following;

    • ILS plans

    • Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)

    • Reliability Modelling

    • Maintainability Analysis

    • Data Recording  Analysis and Corrective Action (DRACAS)

    • Spares Modelling

  • Manage ILS Work Packages and identify ILS risks (Work Package Management)

  • Provide input to bids for the supportability element, ensuring ILS activities are considered and budgeted for

  • Seek to continuously improve our products supportability, using in service data, lessons learned and industry best practise

  • Represent the ILS department in customer meetings and interactions

  • Liaise with key stake holders including but not limited to, Service Delivery Managers (SDM’s), Programme Manager (PM’s), Technical Authors, Training Managers, Obsolescence Managers Engineering Delivery Managers (EDM’s) and Field Service Engineers (FSE’s)

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience working as a Supportability or ILS Engineer with a good understanding of reliability and maintainability principles

  • A basic understanding of ILS and LSA tasks

  • Experience working within Defence, Aerospace, Maritime, Military or MoD
