Job Description

AllianceBernstein (AB) is seeking a seasoned Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) Operations Team Lead to oversee our Pune, India IAM Operations team. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the identity and access controls for all users within our organization, ensuring that our systems and data remain secure. This person must have at least 10 years of experience in Identity and Access Management and at least 5 years of experience in leading medium to large technical teams. This position will report to the Directory of Information Security Identity and Governance. This position is responsible for the AB IAM operations function. The IAM Operations team is responsible for incidents, requests, and approvals that support the joiner, mover, leaver processes at AB. The team manages the IAM customer service function for all AB internal customers. The IAM Operations Manager will work closely with the U.S. based IAM Analysts, our Senior Information Security Business Analyst, our Global Security Operations team and other Security and IT teams to identify and respond to security risks to the firm. Candidates must demonstrate both strong technical and leadership skills. Candidates must be diligent, responsible, and motivated fast learners who show attention to detail, can multi-task, work independently, and as a member of a team. This position will be an extension of the U.S. based Information Security leadership team in our Pune, India office. Our Pune IAM Operations team covers first and second shifts. The hours of this position need to accommodate oversight of both shifts, either on a rotating basis or by splitting the two shifts. This position may require some off-hour and on-call work.

Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Attract, develop, coach and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control and performance
  • Build staff expertise and competence to meet evolving demands of the firm and IAM program
  • Be a subject matter expert in AB IAM operations
  • Central point of contact for IAM operational issues or concerns
  • Collaborate with other IT and business teams with regard to IAM functions
  • Assesses and makes recommendations for improving the IAM program and processes
  • Stay informed of industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies in IAM to ensure the ongoing improvement of the company's IAM program.
  • The candidate should not just understand and be able to complete IAM technical tasks but have fundamental knowledge of why we do these things, the relationship between them, and the security and compliance importance of the tasks.

The IAM Team serves as the initial point of contact, escalation, and subject matter experts for these core functions:

  • Administration of accounts in Active Directory, AB Applications, and unstructured files and folders
  • Administration of IAM technologies and workflows
  • Maintenance of supporting process and procedure documentation
  • Prompt reporting, remediation, and prevention of incidents
  • Reconciliation of orphaned identities
  • Supporting Information Risk Management leadership with compliance/audit tasks and other duties as assigned
  • Improving Identity and Access Management processes and integrations.
  • Troubleshooting access and account related issues.
  • Coordinating with the IAM technology teams in relation to IAM technologies and processes
  • Coordinate with the Information Security team in relation to IAM risk and mitigation

Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following):

  • A minimum of 10 years of verifiable or demonstrated experience in Identity and Access Management
  • A minimum of 5 years leading medium to large technical teams (preferably IAM operations)
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to adjust communication style/content to efficiently engage their specific audience, and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Must speak strong English.
  • Ability to independently prioritize work and complete assignments with minimal oversight
  • Team player who is energized by problem solving and finding solutions together to deliver maximum benefit.
  • Strong understanding of the IAM Lifecycle (Joiner, Mover, Leaver)
  • Strong understanding of identity concepts, including authentication, authorization, Active Directory, multi-factor authentication, identity governance, and privileged access management
  • Experience with Identity governance and audit
  • Experience in Active Directory (AD) user and group administration (Preferably using Active Roles Server)
  • Experience configuring and administrating an IGA solution (e.g. SailPoint) (Preferably a full implementation)
  • Experience configuring and administrating a PAM solution (e.g. CyberArk) (Preferably a full implementation)
  • Understanding of IAM systems and process architecture and design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Experience using data analysis tools such as MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables, etc.)
  • Ability to use and navigate Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint) for collaboration and documentation.
