Job Purpose

The Tax Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the company’s tax strategy is compliant with local, state, and federal laws while optimizing tax obligations. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and manage the tax department, develop innovative tax strategies, and provide expert guidance on tax-related matters. Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all tax reporting and compliance with federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax obligations and ensure compliance with tax laws.

  • Analyze and review financial data to identify tax savings and minimization opportunities.

  • Conduct research on tax laws and regulations, keeping abreast of changes and developments.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior tax staff and assist in their professional development.

  • Manage and coordinate the tax provision and tax compliance process.

  • Advise management and related stakeholders on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on the company’s tax situation for senior management.

Candidate Criteria

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience: Several years of experience in tax management, preferably in a corporate setting.

  • Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are often preferred.

Key Skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, familiarity with tax systems and technology, including SAP and Excel.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex tax data and provide actionable insights.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present tax information.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in tax reporting and analysis.
