We are looking for an API Engineer wanting to learn new skills and competencies on developing digital technologies to build, integrate and evolve required Santander’s new global platforms.

WHAT WILL YOU DO
As API Engineer, reporting to the Head of API Engineering your objective will be helping on the API strategy adoption across SCIB Products:
- Contribute to global community new API policies or improvements on existing ones.
- Contribute to global community standard and patterns ruleset improvements.
- Support Product teams on the usage of API Management, good practices and problem resolution.
- Ensure API Management platform architecture ensures high reliability, availability and awesome observability.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure stable integration with security components.
- Support product teams on API definition, implementation and consumption.
- Enable culture of contract testing across SCIB and collaborate with Global Engineering platform to make it available for all Santander Group.
So you will be helping promote API strategy engineering excellence to reduce products dependencies, and identify integration issues as soon as possible in the SDLC. Impact on SCIB Time to Market, Collaboration, Standardization and Automation. But what is more important provide customer value which is what will allow us not just to search for our current customers delight but also find new ones.
We need someone like you to help us in this areas:
- Implementation of API Management Policies
- Implementation of Contract testing platform.
- Implementation of Standards and patters rules.
- API Management architecture implementation.
- API Management observability, DR exercises and SRE (Site Reliability Engineering)
- Training to Product teams on good practices and strategy.
- Event driven architecture adoption.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
EXPERIENCE
- Working with Enterprise API Management Tools: IBM API Connect and AWS API Gateway
EDUCATION
- Bachelor or Degree in Engineering
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- API Gateway Implementation: policies, lambdas…
- API Security: OAuth2
- API Performance Testing and Optimization
- Programming languages (NodeJS, JavaScript, Python, Ansible, Shell scripting...)
- Git
- JIRA, Confluence
- ELK
