Human Resources Manager, Canada
The Role:
We are looking for our next Human Resources Manager, Canada within our Human Resources Team. The Human Resources Manager, Canada will directly report to the Head of HR Americas and be responsible for the planning, alignment, and execution of the HR strategy, goals, and objectives to meet the overall business needs for the Roquette Canada site
This position is a Hybrid Position (2-3 days a week on-site) located in Portage la Prairie, MB
What You’ll Do:
- Provide leadership and team guidance in respect to department initiatives, responsibilities, and ongoing HR projects.
- Fosters an all-inclusive HR environment and encourages teamwork.
- Management representative for HR Canada, participates actively on various joint committees/teams within the Americas and at the Global level
- Establishes departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of company's strategic goals.
- Designs, directs, and manages a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, workforce development, organization design, and change management.
- Expected to lead all HR initiatives for Canada, employee relations, development and implementation of HR policies, programs and procedures regarding human resource planning, collective bargaining, occupation classification, and pay and benefit administration.
- Leads annual site Performance Management Program – goal setting, performance reviews, ratings, merit and STI review and approval.
- Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulation.
- Leads the Compensation & Benefits Program for Canada and monitors all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment in collaboration with Compensation & Benefits team
- Recommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
- Monitors the organization's culture and make improvement recommendations to supports the attainment of company's goals and promotes an employee satisfaction culture.
- Develops and leads the wellbeing, diversity and inclusion program in collaboration with Americas and Global.
- Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments and updates where necessary
- Develops and monitors an annual budget that includes, but not limited to headcount budget, Human Resources services, employee recognition, salary & benefits program.
- Manages ongoing business relations between management and employees
- Oversees the recruitment and onboarding program for Roquette Canada
- Leads the talent management process for Roquette Canada in collaboration with Talent and Acquisition team.
- In collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team, supports full cycle recruiting and hiring practices for Roquette Canada.
- In collaboration with the Americas Training & Development Manager, supports and contributes to the development of site training and development plans.
What You’ll Need:
- Education:
- University degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Experience:
- 10 to 15 years’ experience in the HR field
- 5 years in HR leadership position
- 2 to 3 years of HR management experience in manufacturing
- Prior experience liaising with external agencies and/or government officials preferred
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain accurate records and reports
- Strong communication skills; specifically verbal, written and listening
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively within teams of diverse individuals, at all levels within HR and across multiple functions.
- Ability to build internal relationships with individuals at all levels, as well as external relationships with external recruiters, vendors and local agencies.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage a high volume of activity and requests from multiple sources in a time sensitive environment.
- Proficient to use the Microsoft series of office software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Knowledge of Canadian HR Laws and Regulations
- Proficient in HRIS systems
- Proficient in Workday
- Business Trips (Percentage): 20%
