Smartly is seeking a motivated and analytical summer intern to join our People Team and contribute to enhancing our HR and Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives. Over the course of the 10-week internship, you’ll engage in key projects focused on improving Knowledge Management, Learning & Development, and exploring the integration of AI tools to streamline and optimize our HR processes.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR strategy, people operations, and L&D enablement. You’ll collaborate closely with our HR, Global L&D, and Commercial Enablement teams to assess current programs, identify opportunities for innovation, and recommend improvements that align with our commitment to supporting Smartlies across the globe.

As a Human Resources Intern at Smartly, you will…
- Analyze methods and metrics for evaluating the return on investment (ROI) of people programs such as Learning & Development, onboarding, and talent development.
- Help audit and improve the learning & knowledge management systems we use to support Smartlies, including how our team creates and maintains learning content (e.g. Sana Labs) and documentation (e.g., Workday articles)
- Explore and recommend ways to optimize AI tools used in HR and L&D - for example, AI-powered content creation, training support, or process automation
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and participate in team meetings to understand current practices and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead a final project that addresses one or more of these focus areas, with practical recommendations shared with the broader People team
We’re looking for someone who…
- Is a full-time rising Junior, Senior, or graduating at an accredited 4-year College or University.
- Has an interest in people development, organizational effectiveness, or HR technology
- Enjoys conducting research, asking thoughtful questions, and synthesizing insights
- Has strong written communication skills and a structured approach to organizing information
- Is curious about how AI tools can enhance employee experience and operations
- Is proactive, reliable, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment
- Currently is pursuing a degree or has experience in Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Knowledge Management, or a related field
- Is fully authorized to work in the United States
