The Human Resources Generalist – Talent position requires a strong focus on talent acquisition to drive strategic hiring initiatives and to connect exceptional candidates with meaningful roles. This position will manage the full recruitment lifecycle—from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding—while ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience. Beyond recruiting, this position will contribute to broader HR functions, including workforce planning, compensation, employee engagement, and compliance, fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
- Responsible for the full recruitment lifecycle, including but not limited to job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, calendar management, scheduling, interviewing, selection, and closing candidates.
- Maintain a centralized job description database and partner with hiring managers to update as needed, supporting hiring and performance communication.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure timely hiring of qualified candidates.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines through proactive sourcing strategies, including job boards, employee referrals, and networking.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing regular updates and clear communication throughout the hiring process.
- Support onboarding processes to facilitate seamless new hire integration and engagement.
- Monitor and analyze recruiting metrics to assess the effectiveness of hiring strategies and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations related to recruitment and hiring practices.
- Handle project and program management responsibilities for intern programs.
- Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources talent acquisition.
HR Generalist
- Partner with leadership and HR to facilitate, monitor, and enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Assist with program and project management of HR initiatives, including but not limited to career pathing, recognition programs, compensation, employee relations, and other related areas.
- Partner with HR and leadership to identify leadership and employee development needs, including researching and implementing effective solutions or programs.
- Collaborate with HR, leadership, and managers to support the annual and mid-year performance review processes.
- Guide managers on providing effective feedback and managing employee performance.
- Identify, educate, and assist with implementing career development offerings and discussions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, along with applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience in project and program management, from ideation to ongoing maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while maintaining strong partner relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, LinkedIn Recruiter and/or related software.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, with Greenhouse experience preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, and/or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of recruiting experience, with strong technical recruiting experience preferred; ability to recruit at all levels, including executive roles, as needed.
- PHR Certification a plus
UA Salary Range/Hourly Rate of Pay: California Salary Range = $110K - $130K
Base salary/hourly rate of pay will be based on the cost of labor for the city/state in which the new hire resides, at the time of hire.

*Universal Audio (UA) defines “hybrid” as an employment model in which an employee is assigned to a designated office and may be required to work onsite as needed. Currently, UA's hybrid employees work onsite (UA HQ: Scotts Valley, CA) at least once a week as well as being on site for company events.
