URW Northen Europe is an international team of about 140 employees based in the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. We run a total of 7 assets, including Westfield Mall of the Netherlands, Stadshart Amstelveen and Westfield Mall of Scandinavia.   

We're looking for a talented individual to join our People team as the People Business Partner. The role is based in our Swedish office. 

What you will be doing…  

  • Apply the People Strategy in all areas to match business goals.

  • Work closely with all department leaders on People-related matters.

  • Oversee all updates to HR policies and ensure they are updated in line with current employment law legislation.

  • Coach and guide managers to understand their roles and responsibilities regarding people policies and practices. Support them during changes and negotiations.

  • Point of escalation for complex disciplinary/grievance and other employee relations issues, with a deep understanding and experience of managing complex people situations.

  • Give advice and support on employee relations, performance management, and absence cases.

  • Manage the annual performance review process, including end-of-year reviews and 360 feedback.

  • Work with the Managing Director of People on the headcount forecasting exercise (5 5-year business plans) and work with departmental leads to ensure the business has the correct resource plan for the next 5 years.

  • Liaise with the senior leadership team to develop departmental people plans and create yearly succession plans for all departments.

  • Support departmental managers to create business cases as and when necessary for additional resources, resource removal or departmental people strategy.

  • Plan and coordinate the People management activities to maximise the strategic use of people across each division.

  • Manage the annual talent review process and organise and facilitate the annual talent review committee meetings with the senior leadership team.

  • Work with the senior leadership team to deliver key employee survey messages and create value action plans with all departments.

  • Lead all redundancy situations and be an expert in best practices and processes.

  • Manage people-related projects.

  • Support with Learning & Development initiatives for Northern Europe.

  • Support the wider Northern Europe People team on the annual compensation review process.

  • Stay updated on current and future People and Union laws that may affect the company.

  • Help improve our HR systems and practices with the Group People Team.

  • Managing new employment onboarding and inductions.

  • Deliver training throughout the year.

   

What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar.

  • You have between 5-10 years of professional experience in HR; recruitment, supporting managers, Nordic culture understanding, experience working in a change management/environment and from private sector.

  • You have extensive experience of labor law (white collars) for Sweden and preferably Denmark.

  • You have experience in an international environment and are used to working in a matrix organization.

  • You prefer a structured approach and can make clear decisions for the team.

  • You have relationship-building skills and you are a team player.

  • You have financial and analytical skills.

  • You are a driven and responsible person taking ownership.
