About the Role & Program:
Join the Experimentation and Causal Inference Data Science team within Disney's Direct to Consumer business as a summer Graduate Intern. You will work with our Commerce and Growth partners to optimize the subscriber experience by applying cutting edge causal inference and experimentation approaches. Our Commerce and Growth strategies are fast evolving, and the need for data-driven decision-making is essential to our continued success.
What You Will Do:
- Engage in experiment design and analysis to drive Commerce and Growth optimizations.
- Apply causal inference approaches to answer key business questions being asked by our leadership team.
- Provide actionable, data-driven recommendations to stakeholders through detailed analysis.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure the accuracy and quality of data required for analysis.
- Present insights effectively using data visualization tools or oral presentations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Exceptional curiosity, analytical skills, and a drive for insights that impact business outcomes.
- Strong programming skills in R, Python, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with experimentation design and analysis.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end causal inference analyses, from initial requirements to impactful outcomes.
- Strong ability to build relationships with teammates, business partners, and technical colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Familiarity with causal inference concepts.
- Experience with SQL.
Education:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree with a major in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or a related major.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information:
- Fully available from Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
- Provide full availability for the entire program duration: May/June - August/September 2025 (12 weeks).
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in Santa Monica, CA.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
The pay rate for this role in Santa Monica, CA is $45.00 per hour.
