Employee relations focuses on creating and delivering people practices which develop and maintain a positive working relationship between employees and MUFG, while managing employment risk for the business.
The key objective of this role is to support the development and implementation of policies and associated activities to ensure clear governance and guidance is in place and therefore to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and legislation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall responsibility for the development and maintenance of UK HR policies, ensuring that they remain current, market aligned and compliant with employment legislation and statutory regulations. Anticipating internal and external factors which may influence policy change, whilst considering any associated risk to the business
- Policy owner for the UK Employee Handbook and Agile Working policies
- Leading the annual review of HR policies and employment contracts working with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure policy owners maintain the policies they own in line with the MUFG Policy governance requirements
- Lead on projects to integrate local, regional, international and global policies as applicable, working with partners globally, including Head Office.
- Supporting policy changes through the correct governance arrangements ensuring all key stakeholders have appropriate sign off.
- Working with Corporate Affairs to ensure appropriate governance and control around policies, and reporting on the status of policies for Policy Review Group and ExCo.
- Working in partnership with stakeholders to ensure commitment to, and the successful implementation of policy related change.
- Preparing reports and gathering research to outline implications or changes to legislation that may require Company policy changes
- Engagement with internal stakeholders to gain their feedback and agreement on any new policies and initiatives that are aligned to industry standard, business strategy and external influences.
- Ensure all communications sent from HR are in line with agreed approaches and identify &
implement opportunities to improve HR communication
- Understand local policy framework and requirements for policy changes to enable regional alignment of processes in line with EMEA HR strategy
- Act as expert advisor to HR Business Partners and HR Shared Services team on consistent application of UK policy, ensuring risks are appropriately managed, and escalate to the Head of ER/Head of HRSS as required
- Contributing to online learning modules which feature key policy aspects.
- Act as the main contact and coordinator for the Breach Control Working Group (BCWG) including arranging quarterly and ad hoc meetings, taking full and accurate minutes of meetings, managing actions and action owners, issuing letters of education (where appropriate) and managing all associated paperwork.
- Oversee the platform for HR communications and identify opportunities for promoting awareness of new initiatives across the EMEA region.
- Ownership of HR pages on KIZUNA and ensuring articles are up to date and current
- Supporting implementation of policy change across the business.
- Leading on designated HR projects and representing HR on the people aspects of cross-divisional EMEA- wide business projects.
- Other Employee Relations and policy related tasks as directed by the Head of Employee Relations.
