This is a fixed-term contract role for a duration of 7 months, providing coverage for an employee on maternity leave.

The HR Manager for the India site is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. You will be the go-to person for all employee-related issues, such as recruitment, performance management, training, employee engagement, compliance with Labor laws, and policy implementation. The goal is to ensure the company fosters a positive, high-performance culture while complying with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing:

  • Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs and manage the full recruitment cycle.
  • Manage the onboarding and orientation process for new employees.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, addressing grievances, and facilitating conflict resolution.
  • Develop and maintain employee engagement programs to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Conduct exits interviews and analyse trends to improve retention rates.

Performance Management:

  • Oversee performance appraisal systems, ensuring that employees receive timely feedback and opportunities for growth.
  • Support management in coaching and developing employees to achieve business goals.
  • Implement strategies to manage underperformance effectively.

Training & Development:

  • Identify skill gaps and develop training programs to support employee career growth and development.
  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions related to leadership, soft skills, compliance, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.

HR Policies & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Indian Labor laws and corporate policies.
  • Review and update HR policies in accordance with changes in legislation.
  • Manage employee records, payroll, and leave management in compliance with local regulations.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Support salary reviews, bonus plans, and performance-based reward programs.
  • Manage relationships with external benefits providers.

Diversity & Inclusion:

  • Drive initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion within the workforce.
  • Ensure fair treatment and equal opportunities for all employees.

Health, Safety & Welfare:

  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Support employee well-being programs and initiatives.

HR Metrics & Reporting:

  • Monitor HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, time-to-hire, employee satisfaction) to track progress and identify areas of improvement.
  • Prepare HR reports for management and recommend strategies for improving organizational performance.



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA in HR is preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in HR management, including 2-3 years as an HR Director with a focus on India-specific HR practices..
  • Strong knowledge of Indian Labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven track record in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRMS/HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
