As an HR Coordinator, you’ll be a key part of ensuring our team members have a smooth experience with payroll, benefits, recruiting, and HR processes. Responsibilities
Benefits Administration & Employee Support
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, terminations, and changes.
- Assist employees with benefits questions, claims, and open enrollment.
- Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and other regulations.
- Process and track leave-of-absence requests (FMLA, short-term disability, parental leave).
- Assist with Professional Development Fund requests and tracking.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Support full-cycle recruiting by posting jobs, reviewing resumes, conducting initial interviews, scheduling interviews, and coordinating offer letters.
- Partner with hiring managers to streamline the hiring process and improve candidate experience.
- Onboard new hires by conducting day one HR onboarding, facilitating paperwork, benefits enrollment, and first-day activities.
- Assist with offboarding to ensure a smooth and positive transition for departing employees.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
- Process payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage laws and best practices.
- Support audits and compliance reporting (EEO-1, ACA, W-2, 1095-C).
- Process intern and freelancer payroll.
- Track and manage Paid Time Off (PTO) balances.
- Support 401(k) administration, including enrollments and terminations.
HR Operations & Culture Support
- Serve as an employee resource, answering HR-related questions with clarity and consistency.
- Maintain HRIS and employee records, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in engagement and retention initiatives to ensure team members feel connected and valued.
- Handle employment verifications and assist with unemployment correspondence.
- Support ongoing process improvements and HR projects that align with Hiebing’s people-first culture.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of HR, payroll, or benefits administration experience preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and basic employment laws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and HR data tracking.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for improving HR processes.
- A "We Before Me" attitude—team player, collaborator, and culture champion.
- Ability to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future.
