Purpose:
- Ensure effective deployment of HR strategies that are fully aligned with business priorities and HR priorities.
- Delivering high quality, standardized HR interventions across a range of HR activities to business leaders including senior leaders and line managers as well as employees to enable them to add maximum value to the business.
- Responsible for about 400- 500 employees across multiple functions.
- Be accountable for working with business leaders to build a high-performance culture with growth mindset in the fast move environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a strategic business partner role with leaders to drive strategy execution and enhance performance.
- Collaborate with leaders on critical HR and organizational decisions, including structural changes, workforce planning, talent mobility, and leadership recruitment.
- Implement change management and cultural development initiatives, leveraging data from GSK surveys.
- Facilitate leadership development and coaching for senior leaders and line managers.
- Oversee succession planning and talent management to ensure key talent is placed in critical roles and succession plans are robust.
- Develop comprehensive career frameworks and deliver tailored training programs to meet business needs.
- Support organizational design and development in alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, informing HR strategies and initiatives.
- Integrate GSK’s culture and ways of working across the organization.
- Facilitate organizational transitions to support business growth in Japan, addressing career development and retention challenges.
- Execute key HR activities and processes throughout the year, including performance management and workforce planning.
- Coach line managers on people-related policies, processes, and effective ways of working.
- Enhance employee engagement and retention through well-crafted and executed plans.
- Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse culture.
- Support the Employee Relations (ER) team in resolving issues and implementing preventive and compliant practices.
- Assist in designing and implementing the Employee Health and Safety plan.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of HR programs and initiatives, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, and succession planning.
- Advocate for employees by promoting a culture of inclusion, diversity, and belonging to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Manage HR projects from concept to execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams as necessary.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge and insights with the HR team and business partners.
Required Skills/Experience
- 8+years of relevant experience in various HR areas AND/OR
- 3+ years of relevant experience with strong exposure to business partnering roles in the Pharma industry
- Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English
Interview Process
- CV Screen - 3-4 Interviews (Teams Video and onsite at Tokyo Akasaka office)
- The role requires commuting to the Akasaka office three days a week.
