The Role

ROLE SUMMARY
The Health Access Specialist (HAS) is an experienced member of the Market Access team, responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize market access and reimbursement of the company's products, both in the public and private sectors. The HAS must work in alignment with other areas of the company, local and above market, such as commercial, medical, marketing, finance, health economics, and public affairs; generating value proposals to meet the needs of patients, service providers, public and private payers, and health authorities.
The role will lead and d evelop the implementation of compelling, innovative market access strategic roadmap, access-related projects, and value-based material development that effectively deliver brand value messaging or propositions to payers, policy advocators, policymakers, and stakeholders.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for understanding the healthcare environment, trends, regulatory framework, sources, and uses of resources to identify opportunities and challenges to optimise reimbursement potential at launch and over the product lifecycle.
  • Serve as the preferred point of contact for local Market Access colleagues, to ensure the centralization of insights, inputs and projects related to the pipeline.
  • Coordinate, efficiently and collaboratively, work strategies with other areas of the company such as commercial, medical, marketing, finance, health economics, and public affairs, among others, for the development, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives aimed at increase patient access and coverage of the company's portfolio therapies.
  • Based on global clinical development plan and local data needs, identify, areas for strategic local data generation and collaborates with other functions to develop options and business cases to demonstrate potential added value.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with expert consultants and key stakeholders at the public and private levels.
  • Identify opportunities to partner with policy advocators, policymakers, and payers in developing win-win solutions that benefit the patients and overall healthcare system through insights generation activities such as expert consultations, panel discussions, advisory boards and, researched-based networks.
  • Manage input of access and pricing assumptions for pipeline products to ensure consistency of approach across the local business.
  • Lead development and implementation of local payer and pricing research projects to inform access planning and forecast assumptions
  • Provide access and reimbursement input to local and global BD evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Market Access Director, BU Leads, other cross-functional colleagues, and with Global teams to develop and share a deep understanding of the access landscape and Pfizer medicines.
  • Ensures correct compliance with local regulation, corporate standards and internal company policies.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education in medicine, pharmacy or other life sciences related disciplines.
  • Qualifications in epidemiology, biostatistics or health economics are preferred
  • Experience in developing access strategies for launch, across multiple therapeutic areas is desirable.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, medical devices or affiliated industry.
  • Ability to lead and prioritise multiple complex projects with proven ability to assess feasibility, lead strategy and develop and deliver high quality content.
  • Proven track record working effectively in a cross functional team, able to work seamlessly across multiple teams and levels of leadership, both locally and globally.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills and effective presentations
  • Proficiency in the management of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
