US Payroll is responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and timely with correct withholding and deductions. In addition, this role is focused on transformation, automation and modernizing payroll practices and the use of Workday.

Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all US employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.

Lead and optimize Workday Payroll system usage, including payroll configurations, audits and troubleshooting.

Manage multi-state payroll operations (including remote employees), including state tax registrations, garnishments, and local tax compliance.

Serve as a key liaison between Finance, Benefits, Compensation, Technology and Advance to streamline payroll processes and resolve issues effectively.

Implement payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain accuracy and prevent compliance risks.

Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring accuracy in tax filings and year-end processes (e.g., W-2s, 941s).

Develop and maintain payroll metrics and reporting to provide insights for leadership.

Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure company payroll practices remain compliant.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing employee payroll inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Train and mentor payroll team members, fostering a high-performance and compliance-driven culture.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in US payroll operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Strong experience with Workday Payroll (configuration, reporting, testing, troubleshooting).

Proactive evaluation and adoption of Workday releases of new features to benefit the payroll team and provide the best employee experience.

Expert knowledge of US payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.

Experience managing multi-state payroll, including tax filings and state registrations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process improvements.

Experience with managing multiple tasks in ADP, such as, but not limited to: SUI rates, registrations, W2 (and its variations,) reporting, and balances.

Ability to manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting effectively.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
The expected base salary range for this position is from $105,000-$130,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
