We’re on a mission to fundamentally heal America’s relationship with food. Berry Street empowers registered dietitians to launch and grow in-network private practices. We’re creating game-changing technology to build America’s largest dietitian network and ensure that anyone can access the help they need.

The Role:
As the head of product design, you will take the reins as both leader and visionary, driving the design direction and user experience across all of our products. This pivotal role will involve building and managing a high-performing design team that is passionate about making a meaningful impact in users' lives through thoughtful design. You will oversee design processes and ensure that they align with the company's mission to improve nutritional health care.
What You'll Do:
- Drive the design process from concept through execution, ensuring a coherent and engaging user experience across multiple platforms.
- Lead the product design team (currently 1 FT designer), fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high-quality design execution.
- Develop and implement design strategies that focus on user-centric solutions, shaping the product vision and roadmap.
- Work closely with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to align design initiatives with business goals.
- Establish and promote best practices in design methodology and user experience research.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and refine designs, ensuring that user needs are being met.
- Mentor and grow the product design team, helping them develop their skills and careers.
- 8+ years of experience in product design at a fast-paced startup environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering successful, user-centered design solutions across web and mobile platforms.
- Deep understanding of user experience principles, design thinking methodologies, rapid prototyping, and usability testing.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and grow a design team.
- Ability to communicate complex design concepts to various stakeholders and advocate for design thinking.
- Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and engineering.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design projects and methodologies.
- Passionate about improving nutritional health care and the mission of Berry Street.
- Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

- Experience building with AI/LLMs.
- Familiarity with digital health, wellness products, or marketplace businesses.
