The Opportunity

Good Inside is looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic Head of People to support our fast-growing team. You will be responsible for influencing the culture while supporting and guiding the team and contributing to the mission at Good Inside. You will maintain and build off the organization's People Operations, Engagement and Compliance program. A successful candidate is passionate, ambitious, creative, self-starting, and has a confident “I can do it” attitude toward tasks big and small. You’re a true generalist and business partner who has knowledge and experience in a broad range of both tactical and strategic areas of human resources and has a natural instinct for coaching throughout all levels of an organization. You have proven ability in building people operations systems and approaches that champions a high performance culture. You have high expectations of yourself, and those around you and know how to drive a culture that rewards ambition and hard work. You know how to wear many hats and have the startup orientation to jump in and get it done. 

This role reports to the Chief Operations Officer and is a hybrid role with three days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays) onsite at our office in Midtown Manhattan. 

What You’ll Own

  • Partner with leadership to implement HR strategies, processes, and practices that align with Good Inside’s mission and values.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees, addressing HR-related questions and concerns with discretion and a solution-focused approach.
  • Foster a high-performance, values-driven culture through coaching, feedback, and thoughtful leadership. You know how to coach other leaders to motivate their team, create accountability and measure success.
  • Lead the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Oversee employee relations, compliance, benefits, payroll, health, and safety programs, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Build and optimize HR systems, policies, and processes to support a scaling organization.
  • Manage talent strategy, guiding recruitment and organizational design in partnership with leadership to reward drive and performance.Plan and execute key people initiatives, such as compensation reviews, training, and culture-building events.

Your Skills & Experience

  • 6 to 10 years of progressive human resources experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in HR or related area; HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred but not required.
  • Ability to balance both tactical HR Operational needs with providing strategic guidance and direction to leadership and managers.
  • Proven experience in confidently running the People function in a scaling organization.
  • Fluent with Gmail, Google calendar, Google tools, Greenhouse, Leapsome and Rippling a plus.
