Head of Payment Partnerships - EMEA 

The Head of Payment Partnerships, EMEA will lead Adyen’s strategic payment partnerships across Europe and the Middle East, ensuring the company’s continued leadership in the payments ecosystem. This critical role sits at the intersection of technology, finance, and strategy, driving impactful partnerships with global card schemes, local payment methods, banks, and alternative payment providers.

As a member of the Global Partnerships Leadership Team, you will manage a high-performing team of partner managers, collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, and shape the future of payment solutions in one of Adyen’s most important markets.


What you’ll do

  • Strategic Partnership Management: Build and nurture relationships with global card schemes, local payment methods, banks, and alternative payment providers. Negotiate complex agreements and drive alignment with key network partners.
  • Team Development: Manage and develop a team of payment partner managers, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture. Ensure the team aligns with Adyen’s strategic goals and supports regional and global objectives.
  • Cross-Functional collaboration: Partner with product and commercial teams to define and execute go-to-market strategies for new product initiatives. Provide market insights to inform product development and commercialization efforts.
  • Leadership contributions: Actively participate in the Global Partnerships Leadership Team. Represent EMEA payment partnership perspective in global discussions and strategic decision-making.
  • Market Development: Drive the adoption of Adyen’s products through innovative partnership models. Stay ahead of industry trends and identify new opportunities to enhance Adyen’s payment ecosystem.


Who you are

  • Leadership experience: proven experience managing managers or leading complex, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Partnership experience: at least 10 years of experience managing strategic partnerships in the payments industry.
  • Demonstrated success in working with and negotiating agreements with global payment networks and banks. Experience in both acquiring and issuing is strongly preferred.
  • Education: MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset combined with the ability to execute operationally.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
