We’re hiring for a Head of Finance -Technology (Maternity Cover) as part of Dentsu in London.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Finance Director – Global Technology, Head of Finance Technology provides financial advice and guidance to the business leaders, business partnering and decision support to the Practice area CTO, CFO, and Senior management team to ensure the strategic and operational financial goals are delivered. Lead the budgeting/forecasting, reporting and analysis of central Data & Technology spend (budget c.£50m) ensuring that all Technology spend is correctly accounted for, and closely monitored to drive cost optimisation and to provide financial control, tax and group compliance and budgeting for the regional Technology recharges (budget c.£160m)
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder management & decision support - Support Global CIO Executive, Technology CIO’s / Practice area Leads and Senior Tech management team to Provide insight, challenge and timely analysis, intelligence and recommendations required to make commercial, operational, financial, and strategic decisions.
- Governance and Compliance - Support Technology future transformation functional initiatives including supporting the creation, promotion and ownership of business cases
- Performance Reporting -Prepare financial analysis and provide interpretation to enable business leaders to make informed decisions to drive cost optimization and execution
- Recharging models and R&D - Management of existing recharging model for technology spend and the creation of new equitable cost recharging methodologies for all technology spend (£160m across 560+ group entities, with 300+ touch points), developed with appropriate transfer pricing methodology, in line with Group tax requirements
- Financial Control & Asset Management - Key interface with Group Tax, Group Treasury, Group Financial Reporting Teams and Technology Procurement teams
- Commercial Contract Support- Provide additional financial insights during the contract negotiation process as an opportunity to exercise cost control
- Line Management & Process development - Effectively manage 3 direct reports to produce, interpret, and challenge financial results and support the development if the team by coaching / mentoring
- Deputization for FD as required
Qualifications + Skills
- Qualified accountant with substantial post qualified experience in a large international company driving the Technology transformation agenda
- Experience supporting all levels of stakeholder – from C Suite to Senior Management
- Ability to influence and advise the technology leaders on financial and commercial matters
- Ability to work with transactional detail, hosted across several systems all the way up to Board level reports
- Financial modelling / forecasting tools experience essential
- Experience in technology cost recharging models
- Strong IFRS experience and financial control background
