The Head of Engineering for Mobile, Web, and APIs will oversee the strategic and technical development of the bank’s digital channels, ensuring an exceptional customer experience across native mobile applications, web platforms, and APIs. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. The successful candidate will define and implement technology strategies that align with business goals, focusing on creating seamless, customer-centric digital experiences.
Principais Responsabilidades

Define and implement the technology roadmap for mobile apps, web platforms, and API ecosystems.

Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.

Collaborate with stakeholders to align digital strategies with business objectives.

Align with global engineering teams for platform convergence within Santander group.

Lead the development and continuous improvement of native mobile applications for iOS and Android.

Oversee the development of secure, scalable, and efficient APIs.

Ensure high-quality web applications with intuitive user interfaces and excellent performance.

Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including agile development and CI/CD pipelines.

Maintain architectural consistency and scalability across platforms.

Ensure optimal performance, security, and availability for all digital platforms.

Monitor and report on key performance metrics.

Partner with infrastructure and DevOps teams to enhance scalability and resilience.

Guarantee compliance with regulatory standards, security protocols, and data privacy requirements.

Champion the delivery of user-friendly native mobile apps leveraging platform-specific capabilities.

Drive the development of responsive, accessible, and performant app and web solutions.

Collect and analyze feedback to inform continuous improvements.

Foster a culture of experimentation and rapid iteration to meet evolving customer needs.
Requisitos

Proven experience in leading engineering teams for native mobile apps (iOS and Android), web development, and API integration.

Expertise in iOS development (Swift, Objective-C) and Android development (Kotlin, Java).

Strong knowledge of web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and backend technologies (e.g., SpringBoot, Node.js, Java).

Deep understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL) and lifecycle management.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.

Solid grasp of mobile app deployment processes (App Store, Google Play) and mobile-specific performance optimization.

Proficiency in secure software development, data encryption, and compliance with regulations (e.g., PSD2, GDPR, PCI DSS).

Portuguese and English as daily working languages as it will interact with both local and global teams

Spanish is a plus

10+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale engineering projects.

Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top technical talent.
