Our mission is to help customers live their best financial lives. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We listen, we adapt, and we constantly strive to deliver the best experiences and solutions tailored to their needs.
Your role
We are looking for a strategic leader to build, launch, and scale Creditstar Group’s Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) product. This role is responsible for the end-to-end ownership of the BNPL vertical - from defining the strategy and commercial model to building the customer journey, controlling credit decisioning, managing merchant relationships, and driving growth across international markets.
You will operate at the intersection of product, risk, partnerships, and operations - working cross-functionally with engineering, design, credit, compliance, marketing, and finance teams.
This is a high-ownership leadership role for someone entrepreneurial, analytical, and execution-driven—ready to build a new business line within Creditstar.
Your responsibilities
- Define and own the BNPL strategy - from credit policies and product design to commercial partnerships and go-to-market.
- Lead the full product build - owning the customer flow, credit decisioning, document signing, and merchant settlement process. Ideally, they should be able to work on their own or work closely with the in-house product team/BNPL partners to define the best-in-class product experience.
- Credit risk process - work with the in-house credit team to define underwriting standards, risk models, and approval flows in alignment with Creditstar’s lending strategy.
- Manage merchant partnerships - identify, negotiate, and onboard merchants and external BNPL tech partners. This is not mandatory from day one, but you should have an appreciation for the merchant onboarding sales process and should be able to own the overall relationship. Eventually, this will be managed by dedicated Merchant Relationship Managers.
- Own financial flows - oversee collections from customers and settlements to merchants, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Build and lead a cross-functional team - including business development, product, operations, and risk.
- Set KPIs and manage P&L - track performance, optimise for growth and profitability, and report to Group Management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks in all operating markets.
- Act as the primary driver of BNPL growth and product-market fit.
Required experience
- 5+ years of experience in lending, BNPL, fintech, payments, or consumer credit products - ideally leading or scaling a business line.
- Strong knowledge of credit products, underwriting, risk management, and regulatory frameworks in financial services.
- Demonstrated experience in building financial products that require software development, legal frameworks, and customer onboarding flows.
- Solid leadership skills with a track record of building and managing teams and working with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen - capable of negotiating partnerships and driving business growth.
- A deeper understanding of the payment ecosystem and the latest developments that are relevant to BNPL.
- Highly analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; other European languages are a plus.
- Dynamic, challenging, and rewarding work within a growing international company where one can REALLY make an impact;
- Regular company parties and events;
- Travel possibilities to HQ in Tallinn or London
- Competitive remuneration package
- Sports compensation
- Birthday day-off
