Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to join the newly formed Commercial Analytics & Insights (CA&I) organization as Head of Data, AI and Decision Science out of our Cambridge, MA office.
As the Head of Data, AI and Decision Science, you will transform data operations into a strategic asset and drive commercial excellence for the US Business unit. Reporting to senior leadership, you will develop and execute Takeda's data strategy, governance, AI initiatives, and advanced analytics to support business growth, efficiency, and patient outcomes. This critical role focuses on supporting upcoming launches while enhancing performance across Takeda's portfolio. You will work closely with DD&T, USBU leadership, Franchise Heads, and Functional groups (ex. Market Access, Patient Services, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Medical) to provide actionable insights for informed decision-making
How you will contribute:
- Develop and execute comprehensive data, advanced analytics, and AI strategy that aligns with Takeda's business objectives across multi-functional and multi-therapy areas
- Transform fragmented data, analytics, and reporting into unified systems that serve as strategic assets, implementing connected data, Analytics & AI products with clear accountability for action insights that support business decisions for USBU
- Build partnerships within and across business units to drive enterprise-wide change management and create a data-driven decision-making culture for USBU
- Foster collaboration between humans and AI, and create a harmonious and productive work environment for AI solutions
- Collaborate with DD&T and Innovation Capability Centers across Takeda to enable capabilities and resources that scale to the needs of CA&I.
- Establish and maintain a data governance framework to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all domains
- Lead the Governance & Quality organization to implement consistent standards and practices for USBU
- Direct the development of data quality measurement systems, processes and reporting across therapy areas
- Lead Specialized data quality teams across TAs and new products and ensure all data management practices comply with regulatory and Takeda enterprise requirements
- Partner with global and USBU DD&T to establish data products and strategies that can drive analytics products
- Oversee initiatives that establish and implement iterative analytics products and solutions across TAs
- Direct the development and training for users to create a continuous learning environment for iterative analytics products
- Lead and oversee change management initiatives across field users for new
capability/product rollouts and migrations - Lead the Advanced Analytics COE team to measure historical performance and optimize spending and execution
- Drive the development of ML/predictive classifiers for NBA (Next Best Action) and dynamic message targeting
- Direct the identification and implementation of Gen AI use cases and delivery of scaled experiments
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (master's or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information
Systems, Statistics, or related field required; MBA is a plus - Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, and technology leadership roles
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry with deep understanding of commercial operations
- Proven track record leading large, diverse teams in a matrix organization
- Experience implementing enterprise-wide data governance programs and advanced analytics capabilities
- Success record in leading organizational transformation initiatives
- Strong understanding of advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning applications in pharmaceutical commercial operations
- Experience in fostering Human-AI Collaboration and Change Management
- AI and Machine Learning Proficiency with GenAI exposure in Pharma
- Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms and modern data architecture like data mesh and data fabrics
- Knowledge of healthcare data sources, patient analytics, and HCP targeting models
- Understanding of pharmaceutical and biotech commercial operations data requirements and workflows
- Deep expertise in data governance, data quality management, master data management, and data products
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for data management in healthcare
- Travel Requirement -occasional domestic overnight travel may be required

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$255,800.00 - $401,940.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
