Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Hardware/Control Systems Engineer for industrial automation projects primarily based on Electrical/Electronic Automation systems (Control systems, PLC and HMI design, programming etc). The engineer will be responsible for System Engineering throughout the lifecycle of a project, as both an individual on projects and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical/electronic system solutions for automation projects while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Design, implement and support all automation hardware and software systems. Generate and maintain hardware design and defining software solutions for systems. Construction and implementation of system architectures in industrial automation.
- Drawing engineering automation solutions and interpreting the logical flow diagram for the solutions, selection of hardware and their desired functionality documentation including overall system documentation.
- Develop, write, and optimize PLC, HMI, Vision, XYZ Gantry and Robot system architecture. Development of Bill of Material (BOM). PLC programming with SCADA development.
- Programming and configuring PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) for automated processes. Troubleshooting and resolving issues with automation systems, including hardware and software components.
- Creating specifications and documentation for system engineering solutions components and finished systems, generate User-Operation, troubleshooting, maintenance manuals.
- Execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the performance, functionality, and durability of hardware products.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of hardware products to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards. Ensuring that the process works safely and efficiently in accordance with specifications.
- Participate in DFMEA reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Working with software developers to ensure that the hardware performs as intended. Provide control technical support during planning, installation, commissioning, start-up, and operations. Recommend equipment improvements, or manufacturing methods, which would result in improved quality or greater efficiency
- Measuring and monitoring regular maintenance and upgrades of automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Demonstrated understanding and practical skills in analogue and digital electronics systems hardware and firmware in industrial control and automation systems.
Hardware Engineer requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or a related field with 5-7 years of demonstrable experience as System Hardware Engineer,
- Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, testing tools, equipment's, and techniques, UL and other certifications.
- Proven ability to design XYZ Gantry, Robotics, Vision Systems automation solutions.
- Design knowledge of Electrical/Electronic Circuits, PLCs - Knowledge of PLCs like Siemens, Omron, Allen Bradley etc.
- Knowledge of PLC Programming, SCADA, HMI programming, PLC-HMI connectivity, VFD & Servo Programming.
- Knowledge of SCADA overview and system set ups using shopfloor management systems.
- Knowledge of IPC, operating hardware system and computer literacy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and precision.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of electrical theory, control components, robotics, and automation.
