In April 2023, Markato closed a seed round led by Lightspeed. Since then, the company has assembled a founding team comprised of early employees at Deliveroo, Uber and Grab who led the launch and expansion of those marketplace startups across Asia over the past decade. Building on strong and sustained growth in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, Markato plans to launch across several markets in the next few months.


You will be taking ownership of growth initiatives across Sales Operations (process development, improvement, automation), Marketing, Content Creation, Sales, Key Client Support and more.


We are looking for talented, motivated, athlete-type candidates with 2+ years of experience, who are versitile to take on different aspects of the business, from creative to processes to sales. The ideal candidate should also have a strong passion for building new businesses.

What you will be doing

  • You will take ownership of key initiatives across all aspects of Growth of Markato
  • Develop, refine, and execute on go-to-market and expansion playbook
  • Lead initiatives across all functions, including and not limited to brand partnerships, sales, logistics, shipping, operations, strategy, finance etc.
  • Serve as domain expert and product owner for whatever problem you are tackling
  • Develop operational processes and automate processes to increase efficiency, in collaboration with Sales, Operations, Technology, and Merchandising teams
  • Develop and execute on Marketing strategies, including marketing campaigns and promotions, paid media advertising (with our agency partners), improvement of organic traffic generation and conversion, and social media
  • Automate sales processes such as outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and continuous nurturing and engagement.
  • Monitor performance by doing analyses, conducting research, and building reports and KPI dashboards, and complete in-depth analyses to translate data into meaningful insights
  • Structure complex and ambiguous strategic questions with a mix of analytical rigor, customer insight, and input from internal and external experts

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in professional services (i.e. finance/consulting /accounting) and/or business operations at a high growth startup or marketplace business
  • Passion and experience in marketing and content creation highly preferred
  • Basic python and automation experience highly preferred
  • You are highly analytical and data-driven. You can complete complex analyses, define critical metrics, size opportunity areas, and measure and report on performance across the business. You enjoy analytical work and rolling up your sleeves to get to the right answer
  • You have the ability to both lead through influence and execute extremely well
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize at the right altitude
  • Ability to flex between analytical, strategic and operational aspects of the job
  • You want to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change and learn how a business gets built 0 to 1
  • Good business acumen and interest in exploring the B2B ecommerce space
  • You have a bias to action!
