FHP Manufacturing Company seeks Group Lead, New Product Development (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 601 NW 65th Ct, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. Establish standardized processes and best practices for product development projects, from concept to launch, to ensure consistency and quality across all initiatives. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Product Development Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within project targets. Serve as a liaison between the product development team and other departments, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate communication and alignment. Lead and mentor the new product development engineers for their project work and intern students. Review and advise on test planning and reporting. Combine all project test plans for lab Kanban. Apply engineering principles new product development engineering tools, such as FAM (Focus Area Matrix), FMEA, RE (Requirements Engineering), DRBFM (Design Review Based on Failure Mode) etc. Manage requirements, find principal solution and develop system structure, assign requirements to components, set focus for design work, understand cause effect relations, develop design elements. Bring technical solutions for the problematic situations or escalate if the solution is affecting the project targets (cost, time, quality). Plan, update test matrix according to standards, facts sheets or acceptance criteria defined in RE. Follow up test requests to LAB and their intermediate results and comment according to acceptance criteria and input or update the test planning matrix. Compile the development test reports for performance and functions according to test plan and individual test results from the lab. Follow up samples and define testing priority and sample built priority with product develop development engineers. Plan and follow up with simulation engineers on Analysis tools (manual calculation, modeling and simulation) to aid in investigation and reducing test time and iterations. Participate in technical risk assessments. Plan for current and future requirements accordingly. Supervise 6 Direct Reports: 3 Development Engineers, 1 Simulation and Modelling Engineer, and 2 Electrical Development Engineers. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as a Lead Development Engineer or occupation involving guide modelling and simulation of HVAC equipment. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Product Engineering (PE) methods and Engineering Change Management (ECR); (2) Risk assessment methods (Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Focus Area Matrix (FAM), or DRBFM (Design Review Based on Failure Mode); (3) Leading and moderating Requirement Engineering (RE) sessions for the new projects; (4) 8D Problem solving methods; and (5) Required stage gate new product development processes (TTM (Time To Market)).
