The Vice President will report to the Senior Vice President, Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Area's Franchise (CETA). The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Position
The Vice President for Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is responsible for further shaping and leading the execution of the endorsed AD commercial strategy. You will ensure strong commercial input to the product development plan, lifecycle management, launch readiness plan to maximize success at launch. You will build up the global organization and capabilities needed to be successful in a new therapy area, including the needs in key strategic markets.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, shape and execute strategies and key opportunities to establish the commercial entry in AD.
  • Drive commercial assessment of internal assets and fit with global strategy, including assessment of Novo Nordisk capabilities and synergies with current value chain and portfolio.
  • Identify and assess potential commercial partnerships and alliances.
  • Lead Therapy area development, shaping the strategy and recommending strategic development options to relevant Governance Board to maximize the project opportunity.
  • Provide materials and tools allowing to execute on launch strategy in the most impactful way
  • Partner with the portfolio global team.
  • Lead and develop team with focus on strong performance and high level of engagement, in alignment with the Novo Nordisk Way.
  • Develop relationships and secure engagement with internal and external stakeholders for strategy development and execution, and successful leadership of therapy area entry.
  • Present Novo Nordisk strategy and ambition to external Key Opinion Leaders, PAGs, diagnosis, NGOs, national and international stakeholders.


Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Master's degree in business or science.
  • +10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably across the value chain: early product development, lifecycle management, commercial strategy (both short and long-term), affiliate execution incl. P&L understandin.
  • Experience entering new therapy areas, and alliance and partnership management.
  • Experience working with R&D, marketing, pharmaceutical products, or medical devices with international exposure in a large organization.
  • Solid leadership experience - delivering proven results through a high performing team.
  • Strong capacity for work and managing multiple projects, delivering high quality on time.
  • Strong results-orientation.
  • Ability to successfully navigate and comply with relevant Novo Nordisk policies and SOPs.
  • High energy level, curiosity, ambition for self and for the brand.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and open and honest communication are a must.
  • Great stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills as well as verbal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.


About the Department
The Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Area's Franchise is located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and focuses on Cardiovascular Disease, MASH, Chronic Kidney and Early Alzheimer's Disease therapeutic areas. It is a growing area within Novo Nordisk. At present, we have initiated phase 3 trials investigating Semaglutide for treatment of Early Alzheimer's disease.
