Job Description
The Trade & Working Capital operations team focuses on developing & delivering business solutions related to the trade finance products offered by banks, including transactions such as import & export bills, foreign bill collection, banker's acceptances/reimbursements, letters of credit and open account trading. The team also provides transactional-based expertise to the business to ensure accurate and timely conduct in accordance with ICC guidelines, bank procedures & trade finance policy manual. The role requires a good understanding of risk management, transaction processing, retail banking, wholesale banking, trade settlements and trade processing
Job responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery & Client Focus: The candidate will have functional responsibility for around 100 FTEs across the Trade Finance under the CIB Operations. The responsibilities would include managing overall Service delivery, flawless execution, smooth new migrations and enhancing overall client experience across each of these verticals.
  • Operational Excellence & Innovation: The candidate will be required to drive innovative solutions for efficient operations and prioritize key technology enhancements across various processes that will support productivity and controls enhancement
  • Operating Model: Ensure strong focus on building synergies across verticals and further enhance the set-up of various Centers of Excellence. Determine appropriate utilities that can be built and leveraged across the region, through optimal utilization of like-functions across CIB Operations.
  • People Management: Build a strong transparent culture for staff based on meritocracy; advance the inclusive leadership agenda through diversity, training, performance management, networking, redeployment, job mobility, mentoring, etc.
  • Partnership & Governance: The candidate will work in a matrix environment and in close partnership across various sites and business partners.
  • Risk & Controls: The candidate will be responsible for building a strong Risk aware/controls focused operations and working closely with the Business Partners and Risk/Controls Managers


Required qualification, skills and capabilities:

  • 13 - 18 years of Core Trade finance experience, strong business knowledge on trade products, processes & systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of trade products including but not limited to commercial (import & export) and standby letters of credit, documentary collections, bank to bank reimbursements, supply chain finance, trade loans, etc.
  • UCP 600, International Standby Practices: ISP98 & Guide to ICC Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees URDG 758, Boycott regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep dive approach is appropriate.
  • Strong analytical ability with experience in analyzing and synthesizing large data sets
  • Strong level of proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project), Knowledge of Tableau, Alteryx will be an advantage
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with business and technical parts of the organization.
  • Ability to partner with demanding stakeholders, managing their expectations while developing strong working relationships with them.
  • Understanding of operational risks and related controls, audit and internal control framework.
