Your Role at Baxter

Are you looking to take part in a dynamic, Global Procurement transformation at the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hospital supplies? We are looking for an energetic, results driven Global Senior Procurement Manager for Global Transportation & Warehouse Optimization/Strategy design, including the alignment of best-in-class deployment of modes of transport to/from Baxter facilities and customers.  We are seeking a result driven leader with a passion for capturing overall maximized value, optimization of Logistics and Supply Chain operations and a key leader to deliver cost efficiencies into the business, as well as a key team member who wants to join and support our company mission to save and sustain lives. 

The ideal candidate for the Global Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading various categories within our Logistics & Supply Chain Procurement Global team focusing on OTR FTL/LTL/Parcel Freight, Warehousing & Distribution Optimization strategy support projects. This role will have responsibility of $250+ million in spend and will report to the Global Director of Procurement – Logistics & Supply Chain, while partnering with key global fulfillment stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will also be responsible for leading procurement excellence and driving best value for the categories under their management and will involve project management acumen across several functions, business units and global sites to define and establish strategic priorities that directly contribute to our multi-year category roadmap. Additionally, the Global Senior Manager in this role will continuously and proactively investigate new suppliers/technologies as inputs into our value funnel, supporting our organizational goals while helping to improve patient outcomes. 
 

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with internal partners and use these relationships to drive optimization category strategies, supplier relationships, negotiations and manage cost savings pipeline.

  • Own the supplier selection, risk assessment and contract negotiation process for key projects regionally and globally.

  • Ensure that appropriate Supplier Relationship Management programs are in place for strategic and critical suppliers in the concerned categories of spend.

  • Provide regular progress updates to Senior Leadership and to key internal partners.

  • Lead negotiations across critical supply agreements using strong value-based techniques.

  • Monitor, track and report on savings and incremental value of sourcing activities, fostering transparency and communication.

  • Stimulate and support innovation by using the supplier base, regularly reviewing market developments, and mobilizing the appropriate internal network.

  • Be an inspiring leader within the organization on key solutions in the marketplace consistently ensuring that Baxter has line of sight to current trends in cost management.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree.

  • Minimum 7 years of category management experience with multinational organizations.

  • Experience with Logistics & Supply Chain strategy development and execution (i.e. FTL/LTL/Parcel/W&D) is an asset.  Multi-Regional/cultural exposure a plus.

  • Experience with 3PL/4PL network optimization strategy development/deployment is a plus.

  • Prior Procurement organizational transformation experience is a plus.

  • CPIM and/or CPM is a plus.

  • Proven experience in people, stakeholder and regional/global project management.

  • Ability to manage multiple parallel sourcing initiatives across different business groups.

  • Very strong analytic and negotiation skills.

  • Business sense and critical out-of-the-box thinking.

  • Experience in contracting, to include but not be limited to, Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments and NDAs.

  • Deep understanding of Procurement standard processes, supply markets, suppliers and products.

  • Mind set of removing waste from processes, streamlining how/what we do to work smarter, faster, better for the organization.

  • Sophisticated understanding of pricing models and contracts terms.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 - $187,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for a long-term incentive .
