Position Summary:
The Global Sales Compensation Analyst will provide support for the worldwide sales teams and manage inquiries for compensation related questions. This position’s primary focus will be on maintaining the Xactly Incent compensation system with up-to-date details for all commission eligible employees as well as providing real-time information to various stakeholders at Illumina in a timely and accurate manner. This role requires a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in a high-growth, dynamic, and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will also be creative, self-motivated, process oriented, with demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
*This person must reside in San Diego and commute at least 1 day/week to our corporate La Jolla HQ.
Responsibilities:
- Administer all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Xactly Incent, ultimately leading to accurate and timely incentive compensation payments
- Collaborate with various business partners such as Finance, Payroll, HR, and Sales Operations to help streamline efficiencies in all processes that ultimately lead to accurate commission payouts
- Assist in rollout of sales compensation plans and new sales compensation processes
- Research and respond to sales team and sales leaders for commission and incentive related issues, questions, or concerns
- Participate in design and user acceptance testing (UAT), providing feedback and/or best practices for incentive systems integration/automation
- Work with all qualified business partners to ensure quota and commission adjustments are applied correctly and timely
- Monitor new hire and termination data to ensure internal systems are updated accordingly
- Understanding and applying current commission policies to complex deal structures to align with sales compensation plans
- Must possess the ability to use critical thinking to analyze and perform monthly/quarterly/yearly audits to ensure accurate payments as well as SOX compliance
- Comfortable with commission output modeling and scenario analysis
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience working in Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, Sales Strategy, or any related roles that may fit within the scope of this position
- Experience with Xactly, user setup, Analytics, and plan distribution
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills, and ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Have excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with Commission Plan administration preferred
- Experience in a sales support capacity
Experience/Education:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

The estimated base salary range for the Global Sales Compensation Analyst (Hybrid) role based in the United States of America is: $61,700 - $92,500. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
