The Opportunity

Global Business Services (GBS) within the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division (ARDx) has a global accountability to deliver an exceptional customer experience and create business value through compliance, standardization and data analytics. GBS fosters a collaborative, team focused and winning environment where employees are accountable and encouraged to develop themselves.

The Global Process Manager (GPM) reports to the Global Process Owner (GPO) and is responsible for working globally and locally on the development, design and implementation of End-to-End Business Processes to drive improvements, alignment and communication across GBS. The Role of the GPM is to develop and implement a standard framework for Business Intelligence (BI) and to drive standardization and optimization of processes and procedures while fulfilling customer requirements. As the link for projects and improvement initiatives across GBS and the Business Units, this role requires building and maintain stakeholder relationships to drive collaboration.

What You’ll Work On

  • Lead Regional/Local BI workstreams on improvements, processes and system decisions utilizing global standards  

  • Represent Regional/Local BI functions in global decisions and design and have a strong understanding of justification for local exceptions

  • Identify and communicate cross functional dependencies, barriers and issues when creating or changing end-to-end process

  • Drive global process design and continuously align with the business process experts within supported region 

  • Partner with functional business leads to drive necessary business decisions and process adoption  

  • Ensure IT solutions and designs meet the needs of the business and that all aspects have been thoroughly tested, documented and trained  

  • Develop and manage process leads and business analysts in fostering collaboration across the business to facilitate the design, review, and evaluation of existing / proposed manual and automated operations 

  • Work to implement a culture of Right-First Time through partnerships with the business and provide leadership in the use of operational excellence principles and process to optimize our technical and business processes

  • Work with functional teams to support alternative analysis for new or existing tools to support business processes, asses impact to existing template and elevate proposals or change requests to a global level for review and approval 

  • Align with Global Process owners on KPIs and Metrics to track benefits of improvement implementations, as well as to monitor / control the sustainment of completed improvements 

  • Collaborate with GBS leaders (Across OTC, P2P and R2R), All ARDx Business Units (In the following functional areas Commercial, operations, supply chain, quality) and divisional functions (IT, HR, Logistics, Quality) to ensure projects are prioritized and executed effectively

  • Responsible for compliance with Corporate and Division policies and procedures 

  • Execute applicable Quality System processes 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Key Competencies and Behaviors 

  • Global Perspective: Assists with establishing a global network of process users and managing the overall process network. Centralize business unit requests and projects.

  • Functional / Technical skills: Strong understanding BI technologies to ensure best practices 

  • Integrity/Trust: Ensure statutory, SOX, Regulatory and/or Quality requirements are incorporated and documented into all processes 

  • Problem Solving: recognize barriers to improvement, use problem solving techniques and analytical skills to develop create solutions and meet project objectives

  • Communicates Effectively: Balance global perspective and local nuances successfully by ensuring business requirements and expectations are clear 

  • Process Management: Utilize process design and review methodologies to ensure all aspects of process steps and opportunities are captured. 

  • Drives Results: Supports GPO in process improvements and capability enhancement projects and promote a work environment that challenges the status quo.

  • Balances Stakeholders: Establish and maintain high quality relationships across the division. Ensure decisions and implementations are created with stakeholders' best interest in mind with the overall objective of customer satisfaction

  • Time Management: Operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism and prioritize workload in accordance with business goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Business, or Management Information Systems or related fields required

  • Strong knowledge of Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX, and visualization design

  • 10+ years of Industrial experience, 3-5 years of relevant experience in areas of business process review, measurement, and improvement 

  • Experience and track record of project management and leading successful continuous improvement projects

  • Experience on continuous improvement approaches with a strong understanding of Process review and measurement methodologies (e.g. six sigma, lean six sigma, lean manufacturing, business process management)

  • Experience working with SAP

  • Experience in process mapping, process review and measurement methodologies

  • Experience with customer service, fulfilment and/or accounts receivable processes  

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (including Visio)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree is preferable

  • Power BI certification is desirable

The base pay for this position is

$83,000.00 – $166,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
