GL Accountant

SUMMARY: 

As a GL Accountant on the Finance team, you will play an integral part in the day-to-day accounting functions at Parachute Home. We are looking for individuals who love learning and who thrive in a dynamic environment. You will work on the month-end close, account reconciliations and journal entries. You will have the opportunity for increased levels of responsibility as you gain experience. You will report to the Senior Accountant and work closely with the growing Accounting and Finance team.

Location: Remote

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare month end close account reconciliations and journal entries relating but not limited to cash accounts, accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accounts payable.  
• Investigate fluctuations and monitor trends in the accounts.  
• Work with other teams to gain a deep understanding of the story behind the movements.  Maintain the Company’s weekly cash forecast and update based upon actual cash transactions.  
• Train, coach, and delegate work to offshore resources and interns. 
• Follow a tight monthly reporting schedule according to established time-frames.
• Reconcile and review monthly corporate card and employee reimbursable expenses.
• Assist with gathering and/or preparing schedules for third party requests relating to financial statement audits, sales tax audits, etc. 
• Other duties and projects to support the Finance team. 

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 1+ years of accounting experience, public accounting preferred
• Strong knowledge and interest in US GAAP
• Looking for a hands-on role at a high growth multi-channel company
• Well organized, detailed oriented, open to change and willing to learn new skills
• PC user (we don’t use Macs)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Google Suite, especially Google Sheets
• NetSuite experience is a plus

Parachute takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. The estimated pay range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000.
