Braun Intertec is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our Bloomington, MN office. This position manages routine to moderately complex projects by providing all technical expertise required to meet/exceed client expectations. This person writes basic reports giving professional opinions and recommendations applying standard engineering practices and techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently on specific assignments of limited scope and with engineers and on larger projects as a team member
  • Manage geotechnical and material testing projects
  • Maintain client communications and build client relations
  • Develops solutions, makes recommendations, and prepares engineering reports for review
  • Observe construction in progress and reports to project engineer
  • Perform various field and laboratory tests
  • Gain experience relevant to obtain Professional Engineer license

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis

Required Experience:

  • Prior professional consulting experience desired
  • Proficiency in field-testing & report writing experience
  • 2 years industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical, materials emphasis, or related 
  • Master's degree in civil engineering preferred
  • Possess EIT certifications
