STV is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer Specialist to play a critical role in a $3-$5 billion dollar project. This position requires technical expertise in geotechnical engineering, including reviewing reports, analyzing soil and foundation conditions, and ensuring compliance with standards. The ideal candidate will support the planning, design, and construction phases of projects, with a strong focus on data analysis, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in onboarding activities, becoming well-versed in geotechnical operations, mission, and team structure.

  • Conduct advanced geotechnical reviews, ensuring compliance with guidelines and project requirements.

  • Assist in planning and design, including scope development, ERC plan reviews, and unit/hour negotiations.

  • Perform data analysis on geotechnical operations, assisting in performance tracking and reporting.

  • Participate in geotechnical research and innovation, exploring new materials and methodologies to enhance infrastructure durability and efficiency.

  • Review foundation submittals, construction checklists, and assist in consultant selection for foundation support.

  • Attend key project and technical meetings, including research forums, negotiations, and interdepartmental collaborations.

  • Lead initiatives for process improvement, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and workflow efficiency.

  • Conduct construction site visits, preparing detailed reports on foundation installations and testing.

  • Collaborate with FDOT and consulting engineers to refine geotechnical procedures and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • 4+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.

  • Strong technical understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical testing.

  • Experience with specifications, Soils & Foundations Handbook, and structural design standards.

  • High proficiency in data analysis, geotechnical reporting, and process improvement methodologies.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers.

  • Ability to travel to construction sites as needed for inspections and site evaluations.
