Join Foth as a Geospatial / Survey Specialist, based in Austin, TX, and support national projects while contributing to our expansion into a new market. This role focuses on DOT and transportation-related clients, offering a unique opportunity to thrive in an environment that emphasizes inclusivity, continuous learning, and flexibility. You’ll work remotely and travel about 20% of the time to client and team sites. Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform leadership activities which includes coordination of tasks between geospatial team and project design teams
- Conduct impactful technical civil engineering activities for municipal and transportation projects from field to finish
- Utilizing digital level to set high accuracy elevations on project control and benchmarks
- Operating traditional land surveying tools (GPS/Total Stations) to complete topographic mapping surveys
- Calculating horizontal and vertical positions from engineering plans for contractors to utilize during construction season
- Providing field support for 3D scanning and sUAS (Drone) operations
- Completing property research for Land Surveying activities
- Utilizing 2D for platting activities
- Drafting of existing site conditions utilizing multiple software programs
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Geospatial/Survey Accredited Program or related degree
- Minimum of 7+ years of related experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microstation
- Experience using Trimble survey equipment
- FAA Part 107 sUAS Remote Pilot’s certification with currency
- Previous working experience with point cloud extractions is highly preferred
